Favor Jewelry Trunk Show Pistils Nursery
Portland is a city of makers. From music and fine arts, to textiles and crafts, our city is rich with locally-made alternatives to mass-produced goods.

In the realm of Portland-made jewelry, one of our favorite lines is Favor, who’s work we’re happy to carry in our mercantile. We’re pleased to invite you to come meet the maker behind Favor, Monika Reed, at our nursery for a trunk show this Thursday September 11th from 5-7pm, in collaboration with Mississippi Avenue’s 2nd Thursday Artwalk.

Artistry and quality shines through in each piece by Favor; simplicity and elegance are guiding principles in Monika’s designs and she finds her inspiration in the way shadows move, the shapes of leaves, and the elusive perfect curve. The pieces are designed to complement — rather than compete with — one another, made with clean lines and curves from high quality materials. These pieces are designed to be timeless, relevant and well-worn for many years.

Monika has been designing and making jewelry for over ten years. Sustainability is a key to her practice; metals are recycled when possible, and are sourced from the US and Western Europe. Her team of makers uses the least toxic metalworking practices possible. A percentage of Favor’s profits go towards Women for Women International, in order to support more women-owned businesses throughout the world.

At the Favor Jewelry trunk show on Thursday, you can expect to see a wide array of Favor’s designs, both those that we carry in our shop and new pieces for the fall season. Enjoy some complementary wine and snacks with us and chat with the people behind Favor to learn more about their process and practice. Find more details on our facebook page and events calendar.
