Between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon, Portland Oregon was dumped with over a foot of snow. That may not sound like much if you’re from elsewhere in the country, but for us Portlanders, it was (and continues to be) BIG news. Because our city is not equipped with a large fleet of snow plows, it’s a winter wonderland out there, with people xc-skiing, sledding and show-shoeing to get around.
We don’t often get to see the nursery in a wintery setting, and so jumped on the opportunity to take some photos of the shop. A first thing we noticed was that the lighting was incredible! It’s totally clear out today, and so the light is bouncing around the snow and off our blue wall, casting some amazing shadows. At the same time, the roof of the solarium is totally covered in snow, blocking the otherwise transparent roof. A lot less light than normal is getting in, which makes for an interesting effect in that space as well.
Since everyone is dazzled by the snow, we thought we’d share a few photos of our Portland snow-day with you. Stay safe on the roads out there, and enjoy the wintery paradise while it lasts!
