Davallia sp - Rabbit's Foot Fern
Davallia is a fascinating genus of ferns, often called Rabbit's Foot Ferns for their characteristic fuzzy, densely scaled rhizomatous “feet” that extend across soil and over the edges of planters. These fascinating growths eventually sprout charming fiddleheads which unfurl to reveal multi-pinnate fronds. Remarkably fast growing under ideal conditions, this fern thrives with regular maintenance and plenty of humidity. The soft, lacy foliage of the main plant grows in a mounded habit, but it is likely to creep in any direction it’s allowed!
PLANT CARE• Light: Perfect for medium to bright, indirect light
• Water: Keep evenly moist, including rhizomes. Water when the first inch of soil feels dry to the touch
• Considerations: Thrives in humid conditions. Shallow root system - avoid deep planters. Pet friendly!

Rabbit ‘s Foot Fern
I was much anticipating the delivery of my Rabbit’s Foot Fern when the weather took an extreme cold snap. I had purchased a mounted one before from Pistils and was very pleased with it. This time I was very happy to receive a beautiful, healthy Fern. Yay Pistils! You do it every time!
Cute and healthy!
My little fern arrived a few days ago. It was securely packaged with minimal plastic (thanks!) and seems to have made the trip across country quite well (I live in NYC). Its a nice sized, healthy specimen and is settling into my apartment happily.
