Xerosicyos danguyi - Silver Dollar Vine
With a genus name meaning "dry cucumber," Xerosicyos danguyi is a cucurbit native to Madagascar with thick, round, gray-green leaves. This plant reminds us of a Hoya obovata or Peperomia 'Hope,' but it's possibly even easier to grow.
In nature this succulent vine will climb, mound, and cover surfaces. It can be trained up a trellis or grown in a hanging basket and left to cascade. Either way, the round leaves and ease of care makes this houseplant oddity a great candidate for any bright space.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Perfect for bright light
• Water: Drought tolerant. Water when soil feels mostly dry. In winter, water only enough to keep the leaves from puckering.
• Considerations: Use a well-draining soil, and select a planter with drainage.
