To make our Philodendron Kokedama, we bind the roots of these vining, easy to care for houseplants in bright green sphagnum moss. Philodendron is a large genus of aroid plants highly prized for their foliage, which varies dramatically in color, size and shape.
Simply translated, kokedama means "moss ball," and these pieces are our take on the traditional Japanese bonsai practice of the same name. Sometimes called string gardens, each piece can sit in a shallow dish or hang with the attached fishing line loop, making them lovely additions to any window or tabletop.
Philodendrons thrive in medium to bright indirect light, and tolerate low light as well. To water, simply soak your kokedama in a sink or basin until thoroughly saturated. Includes detailed care instructions.
We make each piece by hand, choosing from our diverse collection of Philodendron species. The images are intended to show the variety in appearance in these houseplants - feel free to include any preferences with your order. Kokedama Dish sold separately.
Small: 4" - 5" moss ball diameter
Large: 6" - 7" moss ball diameter

I purchased this as a gift. It arrived in great shape and continues to thrive.
Infested with bugs
About a week after my vining kokedama arrived, I noticed occasional flies around the house and bites on my arm, after investigating I found the vining kokedama was infested with minuscule white bugs crawling all over and a lot of dead flies on the windowsill where it had been placed (in insolation). Very disappointed with this experience.
