Prayer Plants
Plants in the family Marantaceae are often called Prayer Plants because their leaves fold up at night. Maranta, Calathea, Ctenanthe, Stromanthe, and Goeppertia are common houseplant genera. Generally, these beautifully patterned plants need protection from too much direct sun, don't like to dry out, and appreciate a little extra humidity.
