Cryptanthus bivittatus 'Ruby Star'
Cryptanthus bivittatus 'Ruby Star' is a terrestrial Bromeliad with beautifuly pink-tinged foliage. Cryptanthus, commonly called Earth Stars, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Bromeliaceae. As opposed to other bromeliads that have very small root systems that simply act as anchors, Cryptanthus are unique in that they only grow terrestrially in soil. Cryptanthus are particularly beloved for their blooms. Though the plant blooms only once in its lifetime, its propensity to produce offsets means it is possible to keep dazzling flowers blooming from your bromeliads year-round. These plants are a very feasible option for any indoor gardener who wishes to enjoy their lovely and diverse foliage.
• Light: Medium to bright indirect light
• Water: Keep soil evenly moist, but not fully saturated
• Considerations: Place plant in an ambiently humid spot such as a bathroom, or otherwise offer supplementary misting between waterings. Brighter light increases intensity of pink foliage
