Agapetes serpens is a caudex-forming epiphyte related to blueberries and rhododendrons. In its native habitat at the foothills of the Himalayas, this evergreen shrub grows in the nooks of trees, creating arching shoots covered in dainty leaves and a swollen trunk to hold onto its host branch. The plant is named for its bright pendant blooms that are filled with a sweet nectar and are followed by technically edible berries!

PLANT CARE

Light: Bright, indirect light. Hot afternoon sunlight might harm the plant.
• Water: This plant prefers even moisture and does not like to dry out.
• Considerations: This plant does not tolerate extremely hot weather. It can handle mild frost, but does not like temperatures above 85F. Hummingbirds love the blooms!
