Agapetes serpens is a caudex-forming epiphyte related to blueberries and rhododendrons. In its native habitat at the foothills of the Himalayas, this evergreen shrub grows in the nooks of trees, creating arching shoots covered in dainty leaves and a swollen trunk to hold onto its host branch. The plant is named for its bright pendant blooms that are filled with a sweet nectar and are followed by technically edible berries!

Light: Bright, indirect light. Hot afternoon sunlight might harm the plant.
• Water: This plant prefers even moisture and does not like to dry out.
• Considerations: This plant does not tolerate extremely hot weather. It can handle mild frost, but does not like temperatures above 85F. Hummingbirds love the blooms!

You'll get a healthy Agapetes serpens that meets our rigorous quality standards in a 6" nursery pot. No two plants are alike, and yours will have its own unique shape, size and personality; expect this natural variation from the photos.
