Begonia 'Festive Sterling' - Sterling Silver Rex Begonia
Rex Begonias have a reputation for being difficult to care for, but we're willing to share our secrets so this Begonia 'Festive Sterling' will thrive in your home. Hybridized here in Oregon, this Begonia has a silver center with a dark green edge that's full of silver sparkles. If this plant wasn't dreamy enough already, the petioles of the plant are covered in pinkish red hairs that catch the light and seem to glow. This plant is unreal!
If you want to learn more about Begonia care, check out our journal entry full of Begonia care tips.
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light. Direct sun will burn the leaves.
• Water: Allow soil to dry moderately between waterings. (We water when the top half of the soil feels dry, just before the plant starts to droop. If you water too often, the plant will rot.)
• Considerations: Avoid drafty locations. This Begonia loves humidity, but avoid misting. Increase humidity with a pebble tray or grouping plants together. Keep room temperatures between 65F and 75F.
