Tillandsia bulbosa - Bulbous Air Plant
Deep green in color and sturdier in form than most air plants, the rare Tillandsia bulbosa is unique with its long branches and tall profile. Often compared to an underwater plant or sea creature, Tillandsia bulbosa makes a perfect addition to a terrarium or bud vase. Or, simply hang it in a window with twine. Naturally growing on the crooks of trees in jungle climates, air plants provide an easy way to bring a bit of the tropics into your home.
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light
• Water: Mist plant 2-3 times per week. Soak plant in room-temperature water once or twice a month. Dry plant facing down so water cannot collect between the leaves. Improper watering will surely rot your plant.
• Considerations: To promote new growth, use a foliar spray fertilizer. After the plant has bloomed, Tillandsia bulbosa will grow smaller plants from its base called pups. These pups will eventually replace the main plant.
