Cereus peruvianus 'Monstrose'
Cereus peruvianus 'Monstrose' is a spiny, bluegreen cactus with an unpredictable growth pattern. This specific form of the cactus called Peruvian Apple grows with several active growth points at once, giving it a multi-headed appearance. The word 'monstrose' is an outdated spelling of the word "monstrous," now used to describe cacti with mutated growth points. Given enough light, this monster-like cactus grows gorgeous white blooms, followed by edible red fruit.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Bright light. Full sun preferred.
• Water: Drought tolerant. Let soil dry between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.
• Considerations: Use a well-draining cactus/succulent soil, and select a planter with drainage. This plant is extremely drought tolerant. Err on the side of underwatering.
