Dendrobium hekouense - Eclipse Orchid
Dendrobium hekouense is often called a micro-miniature as its leaves and pseudobulbs are very small for the genus. In comparison to its vegetative growth, the blooms are huge! The pale flowers have a dark throat that makes the flower look like a solar eclipse or a black hole.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
• Water: Prefers to stay lightly moist in the summer (watering every 1-2 days in the summer), and slightly drier in the winter (watering every 3-7 days). Water via heavy misting or soaking in a basin of water for about a minute.
• Considerations: This orchid has adapted to a slightly drier winter but is fine staying lightly moist year-round.
