Dendrobium lichenastrum (Small Form) - Button Orchid
Dedrobium lichenastrum grows tiny pebble-shaped leaves along a creeping rhizome, creating a tight mat of green lumps. The plant will eventually grow miniature white flowers with a yellow lip, only measuring a few millimeters across. This Australian Dendrobium's species name means "star lichen" because it is an epiphyte and lithophyte in the rainforest, looking like a moss or lichen with star-shaped blooms.
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
• Water: Prefers frequent waterings (every 1-2 days) in the summer, and slightly less frequent waterings (every 2-4 days) in the winter. Soak orchids in room-temperature water or run water over the roots until fully saturated.
• Considerations: This orchid is free-flowering, meaning you might experience blooms any month of the year.
