Doryopteris cordata - Antenna Fern

Hands down our new favorite fern. We love plants with multiple leaf shapes, and this fern has one of the most drastic displays of dimorphism. The infertile fronds (or leaves that don't produce spores) grow low to the ground, forming a mat of cloud-shaped, slightly fuzzy greenery. As the plant matures, it grows highly segmented, fertile fronds that tower over the rest of the plant, looking like moth antennae.

Plant Care

Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Protect from direct sun.
• Water: Water when the top 1" of soil feels barely moist. Don't let dry out.
• Considerations: These ferns are great for terrariums, because they love to stay moist.

What to Expect

You'll get a healthy Doryopteris cordata that meets our rigorous quality standards in a 4.5" nursery pot. These plants are just starting to mature, so your plant may or may not have "antenna" fronds upon arrival. But given proper care, the plant will explode with growth. No two plants are alike, and yours will have its own unique shape, size and personality; expect this natural variation from the photos.
