Euphorbia horrida is a succulent shrub from Southern Africa. The plant has defined ridges, with each edge lined with sharp spines. Although this plant looks like a New World cactus, the plants are unrelated. As Euphorbia horrida matures, it grows branches from its base, forming a clump of mounding, spiny heads.

PLANT CARE

• Light: Bright, indirect or direct light.
• Water: Water when soil is mostly dry and lightweight. This plant grows in a location where it receives regular water in both summer and winter.
• Considerations: Use a well-draining cactus/succulent soil, and select a planter with drainage. This plant's sap can cause skin irritation and should never be ingested, but the spikes should be a deterrent enough!
