Ficus petiolaris - Rock Fig
Ficus petiolaris is one of the most beautiful Ficus trees to grow as a houseplant. The heart-shaped leaves are blue-green with pink veins, and the plant grows a swollen base as it matures. Native to Central America, Ficus petiolaris makes a fun indoor bonsai specimen because it responds well to pruning and its swollen trunk can make the plant look much older than it is.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Bright, indirect light, some direct okay.
• Water: This plant prefers regular water in the warmers summer months and less water in the winter. The plant prefers never to dry out completely.
• Considerations: Ficus petiolaris sometimes enters a dormant state in winter. Don't be alarmed if your plant drops its leaves in winter. It will regrow quickly in the springtime.
