Hoya rigida
Hoya rigida is a stiff-leaved vining plant from Southeast Asia. The ovate leaves can get really large, especially if the plant is allowed to climb in bright light. This plant likes to climb, so it's not ideal for a hanging basket. When this plant blooms, it grows a huge cluster of pale yellow, waxy flowers with a pink center that are usually fragrant. An unusual plant for sure, Hoya rigida is perfect for a growing Hoya collection.
PLANT CARE
• Light: Perfect for medium to bright, indirect light
• Water: Drought tolerant. Water when the top 1-2" of soil feels dry to the touch
• Considerations: Use a well-draining soil, and select a planter with drainage. Read our Hoya journal entry for more care information.
