Nephrolepis exaltata - Boston Fern
This fluffy, bright green fern is Nephrolepis exaltata, also known as the Boston Fern. The fronds are lined with small, triangle-shaped leaflets and can grow up to 3ft long. These feathery ferns make a beautiful statement in any room of the house, but many people grow these plants in bathrooms and kitchens for the extra boost of humidity.
• Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct midday or afternoon sun.
• Water: Keep soil consistently moist (but not soggy). Water when the surface of the soil feels mostly dry.
• Considerations: Boston Ferns appreciate a little extra humidity, making them perfect for bathrooms. The large, arching fronds make these plants perfect for tall pots and hanging planters.
