Pellaea rotundifolia - Button Fern
Pellaea rotundifolia is a wire-stem fern with dark, round leaflets lining its wire-stem fronds. The round leaflets give this fern its nickname "Button Fern." These ferns are native to New Zealand and are hardy in USDA Zones 9-11, but we prefer to grow this plant indoors. Plus, these ferns stay compact—mature specimens rarely growing taller than 15".
Plant Care
• Light: Medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct midday or afternoon sun.
• Water: Water when the top 1" of soil is dry. Water less frequently than other thirstier ferns.
• Considerations: Button Ferns are great for terrariums, because they stay compact. This plant will thrive will a little extra humidity.
