Philodendron hastatum - Silver Sword Philodendron
Philodendron hastatum is a vining aroid from Brasil that is cultivated for its silvery gray foliage. This Philodendron loves to climb, and would appreciate a support or moss pole which will allow it to produce larger and more mature, lobed leaves. In nature, this plant climbs up trees to get access to more light, growing aerial roots to attach to the tree. These roots along the vine support the weight of bigger leaves, and absorb moisture to keep the plant happy. To mimic their natural environment in the home, occasionally mist the moss pole so the aerial roots find it easier to attach.
• Light: Bright, indirect light
• Water: Water when the top 1-2" of soil feel dry
• Considerations: Use a well-draining, chunky soil mix to promote air circulation to roots. Grow this plant up a moss pole for bigger leaves.

I love my new Silver Sword! Came packaged very well and arrived super quick, in excellent health! Very pleased with this order after having a couple of previously disappointing deliveries.
Just so happy!
Just received my Philo silver sword in the mail. It’s very healthy, no damage, and packed very well. I ordered three other plants from Pistils a few weeks ago and they were just as healthy, packed just as well, and didn’t encounter any shipping shock - and they were in the mail for several days making their way to Minnesota. Bonus that all the packing materials are recyclable with the exception of a few rubber bands. I’ll be keeping a lookout for more plants to order from you guys.
a very nice silver sword!
although it arrived a bit droopy, after giving my Philodendron hastatum water and light after it arrived, it perked right back up! i find in my experience silvery leaves tend to dislike shipping, so there's a little bit of shipping damage on the leaves, but otherwise it's very happy and healthy!
