Mounting Plants for the Home: Interactive Online Workshop

Online Workshop!
$ 15.00
Registration Type

In this interactive virtual workshop, you'll make your very own wall-hanging mounted plant using burlap and a cedar wooden board. We'll teach you the proper method to mount and care for epiphytic plants that become living works of art.

For this project, we find that Staghorn Ferns, Jungle Cacti, and Hoyas make the best candidates. These plants are true epiphytes, meaning in nature they grow on trees instead of in the soil. They are accustomed to drying out for brief periods of time, making them easy, reliable houseplants.

In this online workshop, we'll go over the ins and outs of mounting epiphytic plants and their care, with a detailed, step-by-step demonstration that will show you how to create your own. Build along with us, or watch and learn for later!

All-inclusive tickets are currently only available for Local Pickup. The materials will be available for pickup at the Pistils Warehouse before the event.

If you want to buy the materials at our retail store, Materials Kits are available at each store's cash register. Then buy the "Ticket Only" option to participate in the digital event.

Choose an all-inclusive workshop experience, or simply sit back and watch the presentation. Select "Ticket + All-Inclusive Materials Kit," and we'll ship your wall-mounting materials directly to your door! The materials kit includes a 4" plant that is well suited for this project.

Want to source your own supplies? You'll need: a 4" epiphytic plant, a cedar board (at least 7"Hx5"W with hardware for hanging), dried moss, a piece of burlap at least 6"x6", and 7 tacks or nails.

This is an online workshop that will be conducted through Zoom video conferencing. Class starts with a 30-45 minute demonstration, and ends with a Q&A. All questions and experience levels welcome! Tickets are limited, so we encourage you to sign up soon.

To be ready for class, be sure to have Zoom installed on your computer, tablet or phone, and a reliable internet connection. You will receive a link to join the conference by email before the workshop.
