Sarcochilus sp. - Butterfly Orchid
Sarcochilus is a genus of gorgeous miniature orchids called Butterfly Orchids, named after the dainty winged blooms. Sometimes called "Fairy Bells," these compact orchids create cascading bloom spikes with many colorful five-petaled flowers.
Sarcochilus are categorized into the same subtribe as Phalaenopsis and Vanda, but these gorgeous plants are more special than Phalaenopsis and more manageable and tidy than Vanda.
• Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
• Water: Water as substrate approaches dryness. Do not let fully dry out for long.
• Considerations: This orchid prefers higher humidity with good airflow and doesn't like excessive heat.
