Aroids
The family Araceae is full of some of our favorite houseplants. From Peace Lilies to Philodendron, Monstera to Anthurium, most of our favorite houseplants are related! Aroids are in the same plant family, sharing a common ancestor and common flower structure.
Many of these plants are well adapted to the indirect light that filters into our homes, especially the epiphytic and hemi-epiphytic members of the family. (Epiphytic plants naturally grow in the nooks and crannies of trees and other plants. Hemi-epiphytes start on the forest floor, but climb up the sides of trees to grow and mature.)
