Hoya Kokedama

$ 58.00

To make our Hoya Kokedama, we bind the roots of our favorite Hoya plants in sphagnum moss. Hoyas, sometimes nicknamed Wax Plants, are semi-succulent vining plants beloved for their cascading foliage and the clusters of sweet-smelling, star-shaped flowers that emerge on mature plants.

Simply translated, kokedama means "moss ball," and these pieces are our take on the traditional Japanese bonsai practice of the same name. Sometimes called string gardens, each piece can sit in a shallow dish or hang with the attached fishing line loop, making them lovely additions to any window or tabletop.

Our team will choose your plant from our collection of Hoya, such as H. carnosa, H. pubicalyx and H. 'Krimson Princess'.

PLANT CARE

• Light: Bright, indirect light.
• Water: When moss ball feels dry and lightweight, run under room temperature water until fully saturated.
• Considerations: Hoyas will show you when they're thirsty – water when the leaves start to pucker.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We'll make your Kokedama to order. No two pieces are alike, and yours will have its own unique shape, size and personality - expect this natural variation from the photos, and feel free to include any preferences with your order. Moss ball measures approximately 5" - 6" in diameter.

 Feel free to include any preferences with your order, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
